St. Mark's Square has changed little since I visited on my first trip to Europe with UCLA friends Tim and Sandy back in 1990; travel then was more of an adventure because we didn't have the internet or Rick Steve's to rely upon to provide info on every aspect of the trip

Reservations booked online through the official website (20 euros to see everything) enable you to skip the long lines and go to a separate entrance; you can pick up an audioguide inside which is extremely helpful in explaining the magnificent detail
