Castell Coch is a 19th century Gothic Revival castle north of Cardiff; it took me a lot longer to reach the castle than it did to tour it but with gorgeous weather I didn't mind all the walking

Bute Park was laid out in 1873 and, since 1981, has hosted what is now Sparks in the Park, an annual Guy Fawkes Night (Nov 5) firework display; the local bus costs between $2-$3 depending on your destination
